Tom Barker - Principal
Dominion Realty Partners announces that Tom Barker has taken the position of Principal with the firm. Barker brings 20 years of multi-family experience to Dominion Realty. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and overseeing Dominion Realty Partners’ multifamily development efforts in the Triangle, Richmond, Tidewater, VA, and Charleston, SC. “Considering these economic times we are extremely pleased to add Tom to the Dominion team. His expertise in this region brings a new level to our company.” says Andy Andrews, CEO of Dominion Realty Partners, LLC. Prior to joining Dominion, Barker was the Senior Managing Director of Trammell Crow Residential’s Carolinas Division, where he was responsible for the development and construction of the national firm’s properties in North and South Carolina. Under his direction, TCR developed over 3,000 apartment units and 750 condominium units in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Charleston, Mount Pleasant and Myrtle Beach with an aggregate cost of nearly $500 million. Before relocating to Raleigh with TCR in 1999, Barker was Vice President of Asset Management with Prudential Real Estate Investors in Atlanta, GA. A native of Fayetteville, NC, Barker earned his BA from Duke University and his MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
